In Italia l'elettroshock è ancora legale, anzi ne è stata aumentata l'applicazione, come aveva denunciato Ignazio Marino quando era presidente della Commissione parlamentare d'inchiesta del sistema sanitario nazionale. In Italia i presidi dove effetuano elettroshock nel 2008 sono passati da 9 a più di 90.

 La coraggiosa sopravvissuta all'elettroshock Mary Madock partecipa come tutti gli anni alla giornata mondiale contro l'elettroshock, quest'anno nel suo giardino a causa del divieto di manifestazione dovuto alla legge sul Coronavirus.

Sono a favore della libera scelta con piena consapevolezza e consenso. Perché la psichiatria è basata sulla paura, sulla forza e la frode, perché le persone che si trovano in un momento di crisi, vengono raramente rispettate e considerate come esseri umani, perché la società è troppo indaffarata per capire, perciò la libera scelta è un raro regalo per la maggior parte delle persone.

I am pro choice with full knowledge and consent. Because psychiatry is based on fear, force and fraud, because people in distress are rarely respected and valued as human beings, because society is too busy to understand then choice is a rarely present for most people.

This is what Jim said about the Mental Health Act: "It was also stated that the recent removal of the word ‘unwilling’ from Section 59b of The Mental Health Act in effect made little difference as legally, a person deemed ‘unable’ will be considered to lack capacity and with the agreement of 2 psychiatrists, can still be forcefully subjected to the procedure."

Also people who are 'diagnosed' by medics without any biological test cannot make a LEGALLY BINDING advanced directive while their 'diagnoses' are not scientifically valid in the first place. Mary Maddock

Questo è ciò che Jim ha detto riguardo la legge sulla salute mentale (Mental Health Act): "E' stato anche affermato che la recente cancellazione della parola "involontario" dalla Sezione 59 b della legge, in effetti ha fatto ben poca differenza, in  quanto dal punto di vista legale, una persona ritenuta "incapace", sarà considerata con meno capacità e con l'accordo di 2 psichiatri, può ancora essere sottoposto coercitivamente al trattamento".

Anche le persone che sono state "diagnosticate" da medici senza alcun test biologico, non possono fare un testamento biologico giuridicamente vincolante, mentre, prima di tutto,  le loro "diagnosi" non sono scientificamente valide. Mary Maddock
