This diploma will equip you with a wealth of knowledge, tools and resources so that you can play an active part to ensure that the rights of people with psycho-social (mental health) disabilities are better respected.
We are at a turning point in international recognition of the rights of people with mental disabilities. This diploma will enable you to understand the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and other international standards, to critically analyse your country legislation, and to provide concrete recommendations for change to your government’s laws and policies.
Participants in the diploma program include mental health professionals, legal advocates, government administrators, mental health service users and carers. This diploma provides a unique environment where difficult and important questions in the arena of mental health and human rights are discussed in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment.
